Patricia Derks Paintings

I really like Patricia Derks work. I used these for a school project and started to realize that I couldn't delete them from my computer.

How to Make Cake in the Microwave

For Mother's Day, I made my mom little treats which were peanut butter fudge (something I make almost all the time) and my very own petit fours (small, bite-size cakes). Mother's Day, of course, has passed but I would like to share the recipe. Most people bake cakes in ovens but using a microwave is much easier. It seems unbelievable but trust me: it's believable. It's everywhere but I'm going to share my recipe with you.

3/4 C flour
3/4 C granulated sugar
A pinch of salt
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 tsp of milk
1 1/2 tsp vegetable oil
1 tsp water
Any type of frosting

  1. Place flour, sugar and salt in a medium-sized bowl.
  2. Add water, milk and oil. Stir thoroughly. The mixture should be thick, not thin. If so, add more flour.
  3. Add vanilla. It will make the flavor pop. Mix in.
  4. Grab a bowl or container of your choice, Grease with a cooking oil or line with waxing paper.
  5. Place mixture within the bowl or container. Spread mixture out so it can be flat.
  6. Place bowl or container in the microwave and cook for 1 minute. If the mixture is not dry, cook for an extra 30 seconds.
  7. Let cake cool down for five to ten minutes then glaze the cake with a frosting of your choosing for extra flavor.
  8. Additional options: to make your cake more fluffy, add baking soda and baking powder while making the mixture. To give your cake a little zest, you can add some spice like cinnamon or nutmeg. If your cake feels a bit hard, just add some water to soften it a bit.

Gabriela Gunčíková - (Wo)Man In The Box (Alice In Chains)

Had to share another one. (Wow!)

Gabriela Gunčíková - The Pretender (Foo Fighters)

Wow and I mean wow. I love her voice. This girl can wail! I am so envious. If you don't know who this is, you got to know because I need to see her more often. Heck, everybody needs to see her more often. She's amazing!

Imaginary Connection

Tinted windows but I can still see the leaves
On the tree, trying to wave at me
I smell an odor that I think is mine
When it comes to cleaning, I don't have the time
I made my turkey sandwich that I crave
But I don't know it won't bring me a better day
I drink my water from a plastic jar
Wondering if you can see me from afar

What are you doing?
What do you do?

I'm tired but I cannot go to sleep
When I do, I wake up feeling like a zombie
But when you see me, you don't seem to notice
Acknowledging that filled me with such bliss
Now wherever I go, it's thirty acres
And we separate and hide in our personal craters
I walk with the sun shining in my eyes with yellow
Wondering if you had the guts to say hello

How are you doing?
How do you do?

You are so trapped inside your planet
And I know that I'll never have it
But does anything slip out?
A whisper or a shout
All I want to say is
How are you
What can I do
To talk to you

Hello dentist, sorry for the cavities.
I just met a guy who's very good to me.
In my spine, I feel a chilling
I know I'm going to need a filling.

My baby is quite a looker
He's like a spoonful of sugar.
His lips are like two lollipops
When I'm kissing them, I can't stop.

Always snacking on him like sweets
And I know it messes with my teeth.
So you've to get rid of my tooth decay
But his candy will always make my day.

I got a pretty bad toothache
From all the angel food cake
He gives to me
And it is so sweet.
