Happy Birthday to Bob Bryar

Happy birthday to the one who will never be forgotten: Bob Bryar! I have done a post for his birthday before so you should know who this already is. If you have forgotten or never known, he used to be a drummer for My Chemical Romance. He turns 35 today and this is not a recent picture. I feel like I should use a more recent picture since I've heard his beard is longer and I love long beards. But it shouldn't matter because I know what he looks like and plenty others know what he looks like. However, most importantly, it is his birthday. So, Bob, have a fantastic birthday today and happy new year! Love and forever!

Happy Birthday, Jared Leto!

Today is a special day for two lovely men. It's my dad's and Jared Leto's birthday! I just find out it was Jared's birthday several hours ago. I always knew when my dad's birthday is. But my dad turns 37 (Gerard Way's age) and Jared turns 43 (the age of a sexy man!). You may know Jared Leto as the lead singer of Thirty Seconds to Mars and Academy Award-winning actor, known for his role in "Dallas Buyers Club". My dad works at Pizza Hut. But nonetheless, I love him. I also love me some Jared. I wish them happy, happy birthdays today! xoxo

How to Make Christmas Crunch

  • 1/2 cup popping popcorn kernels, or 2 bags tender white popcorn
  • 1 (12 oz) bag Vanilla Candy Melts (such as Wilton Candy Melts)
  • 1 1/3 cups broken pretzel pieces
  • 1 (12 oz) bag green and red Milk Chocolate or Mint M&Ms
  • Red, green and white Sprinkles (I used Jingle Mix Nonpareils)
  1. Pop popcorn in a popcorn popper into a large bowl (or alternately in the microwave if using microwave bags of popcorn) according to manufactures directions. Remove any unpopped popcorn kernels.
  2. Toss in broken pretzel pieces and M&Ms.
  3. Melt Vanilla Candy Melts in a microwave safe bowl on 50% power in 30 second intervals, stirring after each interval until melted and smooth.
  4. Drizzle half of melted chips over popcorn mixture, then stir, tossing gently a few times with a rubber spatula. Then drizzle remaining half of melted chips over popcorn, and gently stir mixture until evenly coated (don't over stir though or your sprinkles wont stick if the white chips begin to set and harden).
  5. Pour mixture into a single layer onto wax paper.
  6. Sprinkle entire mixture evenly with sprinkles (as many as you'd like) before vanilla chips set.
  7.  Allow to cool and harden, then gently break into pieces and store in an airtight container.

How to Make Pretzel M&M Hugs

70 square pretzels (do NOT use butter snaps)
70 Hershey's Hugs chocolates (from nearly 1 full 12 oz package), unwrapped
70 Milk Chocolate M&M's, I used the red and green Christmas package
  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with  parchment paper.
  2. Align pretzels on cookie sheet in a single layer then top each pretzel with one Hershey's Hug chocolate.
  3. Bake in preheated oven for 4 - 5 minutes, until the chocolate is shiny and soft (but NOT melting, the chocolates should still hold their shape).
  4. Remove from oven and carefully place one M&M in the center of each soft Hug and press down on M&M to spread the chocolate.
  5. Place in refrigerator and allow to rest until chocolate has set, about 5 minutes. Store in an airtight container.

How to Make Cranberry Tarts

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened

1 (3-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup chopped pecans

1 teaspoon vanilla

3/4 cup (48 to 72) fresh cranberries, washed, drained, cut in half**

1 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 to 3 tablespoons milk

Heat oven to 325°F. Combine flour, 3/4 cup butter and cream cheese in small bowl. Beat at medium speed in until dough forms a ball.

Divide dough into 36 equal pieces. Place 1 piece of dough into each ungreased mini muffin pan cup. Press dough evenly onto bottom and up sides of cup.

Combine sugar, pecans, egg, 1/4 cup butter and vanilla in small bowl. Place 4 or 5 cranberry halves in each pastry-lined cup. Spoon 2 teaspoons sugar and pecan mixture over cranberries.

Bake for 22 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Loosen tarts from pan while hot by running knife around inside of rim. Cool completely. Remove from pans.

Happy Thanksgiving!

5 Seconds Of Summer - What I Like About You (2014 American Music Awards)

You should already know about my super duper obsession with 5 Seconds of Summer! They rocked the AMAs last night, performing a classic: "What I Like About You" by the Romantics. It was my favorite performance from that show and that was my first time watching the AMAs. I hope their popularity never dies because they could be the saviors of pop punk. #PopPunkRevival #NoMoreIndie

'The Ocean' by Nathaniel Hawthorne

The Ocean has its silent caves,
Deep, quiet, and alone;
Though there be fury on the waves,
Beneath them there is none.
The awful spirits of the deep
Hold their communion there;
And there are those for whom we weep,
The young, the bright, the fair.

Calmly the wearied seamen rest
Beneath their own blue sea.
The ocean solitudes are blest,
For there is purity.
The earth has guilt, the earth has care,
Unquiet are its graves;
But peaceful sleep is ever there,
Beneath the dark blue waves.

It gets boring waiting for a daily rehearsal to start. Why not do a 'selfie' in the bathroom if no one is around?

50's Dresses

I am a part of a school play that is based in the 1950s and 60s. I went through Pinterest to find outfits that I could possibly have. At the end of the day, I learned that I love 50s fashion! Just anything retro.

"Oranges" by Gary Soto

The first time I walked
With a girl, I was twelve,
Cold, and weighted down
With two oranges in my jacket.
December. Frost cracking
Beneath my steps, my breath
Before me, then gone,
As I walked toward
Her house, the one whose
Porch light burned yellow
Night and day, in any weather.
A dog barked at me, until
She came out pulling
At her gloves, face bright
With rouge. I smiled,
Touched her shoulder, and led
Her down the street, across
A used car lot and a line
Of newly planted trees,
Until we were breathing
Before a drugstore. We
Entered, the tiny bell
Bringing a saleslady
Down a narrow aisle of goods.
I turned to the candies
Tiered like bleachers,
And asked what she wanted
Light in her eyes, a smile
Starting at the corners
Of her mouth. I fingered
A nick
l in my pocket,
And when she lifted a chocolate
That cost a dime,
I didn’t say anything.
I took the nick
l from
My pocket, then an orange,
And set them quietly on
The counter. When I looked up,
The lady’s eyes met mine,
And held them, knowing
Very well what it was all
A few cars hissing past,
Fog hanging like old
Coats between the trees.
I took my girl’s hand
In mine for two blocks,
Then released it to let
Her unwrap the chocolate.
I peeled my orange
That was so bright against
The gray of December
That, from some distance,
Someone might have thought
I was making a fire in my hands

Happy Birthday, Frank Iero!

Say Happy Birthday to one of the men of my dreams, Franky Iero! Everyone should already know who he is and even though he is not a big deal, he's a big deal to me. Halloween Costume Ideas!

Ready? Okay! With a cropped V-neck and a ruffled mini skirt, you can dress as a cheerleader. (Pom-poms would make it more convincing.)
Hi-yah! Dress in all black to look like a ninja. Tie a shirt over your face to make it believable.
Hey, hey, you, you! Dress as Avril Lavigne by wear a white tank, a pair of sneakers and a neck tie.
Who dat, who dat? It's Cher Horowitz from Clueless! Just dress preppy while keeping it vintage.
Survival of the fittest! Be a survivalist and wear green shorts, green vest and a fedora. Make sure to add combat boots.

Happy Halloween!
